Join other Southern Cal Red Owners and industry professional and as we mix it up and share tips from the field, post workflow, production kits and even demo a few gadgets.

Our theme is "Go Wireless". We will have our new Red Rock Micro wireless follow focus on hand, our Paralink HDMI transmitter and (hopefully) a demo of the new Teradek Bolt Wireless HD/SDI video transmitter.

If you have any bits from your kit you want to check out or share with the Red please bring 'em.



Also our meets are potluck style. So if you can contribute by bringing some for or drink that would be great!


WHY: To share and inspire. I know there are Red Users in Orange County. Being in such a close proximity to LA, we often pass each other by unaware. My aim is to start and foster our own Red user group here in Orange County. Meet up talk shop, network, etc. It's always exciting to talk to other advocates of Digital Cinema. As we're just starting out, I'd like to keep these meetings fairly casual. Perhaps in time we can run demo's, discussions, and the like. And of course lend a helping hand on productions we might have going on, time permitting of course.

If you have any ideas about what you'd like to see or discuss at the meeting post in the thread. We'd love to hear your ideas.

I'm not sure if this information is helpful, but there are two Dyer exits on the 55 Freeway. If you are coming South bound, you'll want to take the Dyer exit EAST (the West is closed for construction anyways).

Other warnings:

1. There is construction on Dyer.
2. That area of the street is REALLY bumpy.
3. It feels like EVERY FREAKING Traffic light there is a photo traffic light.
4. Potentially be stuck in traffic during the 6pm time.

By the time you get to the Dyer exit off the 55, be aware that there will be traffic. That area has a lot of businesses and there is also construction. There isn't construction from the side you're coming, but it affects traffic. Good Luck!

Some veterans didn't even own a RED EPIC because renting was a great option as well. OC REDUSERs have a plethora of equipment. If you need something, it's likely one of the guys had it.

We also talked a lot about setups.
Wooden Camera (http://woodencamera.com/) seemed to be the favorite for outfitting most Epic's and Scarlets.
Atomic13 (http://www.atomic13.com/) also had a really awesome cover for the epic. With a T top handle in the works.
We also seemed to be pretty unanimous on using bricks instead of redvolts for production.

I'd like to thank everyone for coming out and making the event phenomenal as it was.
Brad, once again your moderation and hosting definitely helped bring it all together!
I'm stoked to meet people who are as excited as I am about Red. (I probably hung out with Ketch one too many times.)

It was a pleasure to host last nights get together and meet everyone. Loved sharing all of our unique and common experiences with each other. It was especially helpful to see the various rigs, lenses and accessories that everyone has discovered and are using in the field.

My favorite "hands on" were with the Wooden Camera bits and the 3rd party Canon mount still lenses. Also super cool to see half a dozen OC based Epics and a Scarlet in our studio. Brad and I talked briefly about possibly getting a davinci demo/workshop after NAB. We'll see how it goes.

I was hoping to make it to this event but I might not be home till 9pm that night, as I am booked.. The meeting location is 2 minutes from my house, walking distance even!

On a side note, I am looking to test a cooke 20-100 t3.1, if anyone has or knows someone with one. I am planning on purchasing it shortly for my first PL lens, but would definitely love to get my hands on it to test before I drop a load a cash on it.
