UI Looks so perfect. Love the look of all the scopes, viewers, and especially the timeline. UI perfection according to my taste at least.

Can't wait to give it a go. For pretty much all of my personal projects this looks like a phenomenal tool to use from start to finish. Can't wait to see what's possible in the first release!

I guess the first release is going to be what Peter was demonstrating. What they are mentioning in the STORM's DNA page is that it will do a lot more in the future.

I also made a facebook group so I can share all of the related links.

It's set to public so don't need to have facebook account to look at.

From what I've seen at the FXGuide IBC report linked above STORM is must have software for every RED User.

One question to Peter and Kaku. Does all of the parameter like lift gamma gain integrated as part of FLUT system and perform in full float like REDcine-x ? Or it's actually an addition after RED SDK generated the initial image from the metadata ? How's the process of the image generated ?

Its all Float for color processing in Storm.

Jim, Rivai is asking about the UI and the parameter on the RGB manipulation comparing from current REDCINE-X and the STORM.

Rivai, I haven't looked at the latest build of Storm in person, but I saw the same kind of controls like lift/gamma/gain on each RGB (yes, I love that on RCX) like RCX does. Looked like the same ways to control through TF's UI translated into R3D metadata, but plus luma secondary and all.

In my opinion, it looks like TF is using their technology to provide more control over all, and what Jim mentioned, under float processing.

Rivai,

If you watch the fxguide's STORM demo video, at 26:13, you will see Peter is showing the quick response on the STORM from the MC Color, then the screen shows the full controls on lift/gamma/gain on each RGB and the global channel.

Yeah i saw that, but i still questioned it, if peter adjust it to extreme, it's easier to judge. It's a little hard to explain what i really mean by part of FLUT or after SDK, it's two different things despite the fact both method can perform in full float. I have R3D test file but i dont have storm to try it out. I will wait till it released to find out.

Thanks
Rivai

It seems like include both RED SDK AND the TF's own.

What i hope to find out is the processing behind the image to go like this

RED SDK + TF Tools --> Final Image

and not

RED SDK --> Initial Result Image (from metadata) --> send to foundry engine + TF Tools --> Final Image

Rivai, Storm works in many ways like Aperture (or LightRoom) does on RAW stills. Everything is non-destructive and "live", which means RED SDK + (optional RMD look from RedCineX) + TF Tools & Effects = Final (live) Image. You can go and change (again non-destructively) any of the parameters down the chain and You will see live "reaction"...
