I Just returned from Toronto RED-MEET 03, and I am flying high about the RED ONE and our local user group. We had a great turn out, I really enjoyed chatting with everyone.
I had the Leader of the Rebellion Ted Schilowitz on the line from RED HQ, and he gave us a great update the current state of the RED union. We had some good discussion on the agenda items and we saw the camera in action.
Thanks to you all for coming out. Toronto RED-MEET 04 will happen sooner rather than later, and by then we should have some local RED ONE footage to scrutinize and enjoy.
I’d like to extend a special thanks to Penny and Allan at PS for hosting, and to Morning for showing us his baby #98 and walking us through the RED Alert workflow.
On a separate note: I helped Morning and Gregor as they navigated workflow paths on Tuesday. After finally getting my hands on some raw footage, I have to shout to the hills that the flexibility of REDCode RAW is mind blowing. To say I am excited about the future would be the understatement of the day.

Thanks! Ian, this was great meeting.
Looks like more and more people shows up each time.
Finally I had opportunity to press the pause button on the live footage, it is smooth like any other DSLR RAW. It beats hands down 10MB Canon stills. Time to buy 21MB Ds Mark III
Can not be that one of my movie cameras will better my DSLR, never happen before.

Yeah that is mind blowing isn't it? Never mind that we are looking at compressed raw images! Jim has some serious mojo going on with with Mysterium. Oh yeah, that guy Graeme too :)

Great to see everyone out. I look forward to the 04 meeting.
Perhaps by spring when everyone gets their reds, we can shoot a big scene like Lars Von treir's dancer in the dark musical scenes, and use multiple red cameras for the all angles.
Maybe wishful thinking, but 4K looks like its going to change how the world tells its stories. I only wish the camera would support 1000 frames, it is digital after all, I dont understand why it wouldnt but thats another topic.
