I understand the principles of contracting the width during shooting and widening the width when projecting. what I don't understand is how you edit. Are there special filters you need or custom software to stretch it out on your editing screen? I'm not an editor so I don't know.

When you transcode the footage via RedcineX for an edit you select that the footage as Anamorphic and the 2 to 1 stretch is perminant for the new clip.
