Lay it on me guys, what options do I have for color correction monitors that aren't built for this very purpose, but would still do a good job.

The more on the frugal side of things, the better.

Around $1,900usd not a cc monitor, but good studio monitor after calibrated can do a reasonably good job.

HP Dreamcolor is fantastic for this and can be easily calibrated.

We have an HP Dreamcolor 24", Cinetal 24" 2000 Series and Panasonic VT25 50" Plasma + JVC 1080p LCOS Projector w/147" Screen. Love them all!

I also have the HP and have on order the VT25. may i ask how you have the HP setup? REC709 and illumination at 150 or so & 6500k. But gamma when i look is set at 2.4 Is this how you have setup? --- for television grading that is. I am having difficulty finding exactly where to setup the HP. also NOT running in full mode yes?
