Hey everybody, RED Rocket newb here. I've just went through a bunch of tests on getting this puppy to bark, but there is no luck. When I put the Rocket into any PCI slot that is not the first one, I get only 1x of link. In the first slot I get it to the 8x minimum. My Nvidia card runs 16x on the first but when I move it to the others it also receives only 1x. I would like to keep my Rocket on the 2nd slot and my Nvidia on the first. Has anybody encountered such a problem before?
Thanks,
Petr

I get this pretty regularly, the RR card shows up as 4x but its in a 8x or 16x slot. My video card is an NVidia GT120 and always seems to hog to PCI bandwidth.
I have found that reseting the PRAM fixes this and the RR card is seen at the proper channel speed.

Excuse my ignorance (I am a filmmaker...), how do you reset is the PRAM? :confused1:
NEVER MIND (Control+Option+P+R)

Start up the Mac, when you hear the BONG, hold down OPTION+COMMAND+P+R
It will BONG again. Some people like to let it BONG 3 or 4 times before letting go.
This resets all parameters and is a good way to clear out the cobwebs.
Another things to try is repair permissions, which you will find in DISK UTILITY inside the UTILITIES FOLDER inside the APPLICATIONS FOLDER.
Good luck!
