When I am applying grades from a frame grab taken from one RED clip to another RED clip how can I get the individual metadata from the previous clip to copy over to the clip I'm copying to? Seems to only copy the nodes/grade but not repositions or individual Red metadata settings that have been set on the previous clip you are copying the grade from.

As far as I know, right now, you can't copy metadata. Unless I'm mistaken, that pretty much applies to any other color grading systems.

That really sucks if that's the case. It would make a lot of sense for this to be addressed. It is such a basic necessity to creating looks. It makes me not want to adjust metadata at all which kinda defeats the purpose of having it all together. It is a major time suck to have to adjust each clips metadata in a group or scene individually ie whitebalance and REDCOLOR / REDLOGFilm etc
Anyhow, is this a RED restriction from the SDK or is it an application issue?

We already have this feature request on our development list.
The only way to do this currently in Resolve is to use the Media Pool. You can highlight a group of clips, right-click and edit the red settings. It takes the values from the clip you right-click on, so if you choose the clip you want to copy from, you can apply it to other clips. Please do note that all settings will be copied over, not just the changed values.

You can on Scratch. And on Baselight, you can change individual settings on multiple shots (change gamma from Redgamma to Red709, for instance) by using group grading. I've used that one quite a bit...

Good to know. Not the most elegant solution though since the media
Pool takes you out of the creative Color room. Good to know there is a way to adjust clips metadata in a group though and that there is a solution to this on the way.
Also, I've noticed there is a LOT of right click functionality in Resolve (which I kinda like reminds me of Shake for Color) but is there ever going to be a way to map keys on the Wave from within the Resolve interface or is that going to be something BMD decides for us and implements more of over time? If it's the latter please map versioning to the "F" buttons F1, 2 & 3 for example. This way there is a quicker way to pop through my versioned grades rather than the time it takes to right click into them.
