Back when they had the suggestion contest, someone gave us a link to a 3D video camera. Adobe is apparently experimenting with a fly-eye lens that allows depth information to be derived for "every pixel". Maybe this is a good use for all of Red One's extra resolution. I WANT TO KEY ON DISTANCE FROM THE LENS!

You would be loosing quality for control. Cool, but not really usable for our purposes. You just got 4k and you want to drop back down to SD? It's more practical on an 11 MP digital SLR or something like that. (or film)

How about splitting the frame four ways to get 2K resolution plus depth? That would surely be useful.

Neat! Infinite DOF for all!

My question is how the multiple lense array gets through the one lense and, if possible, could the lenses be made smaller for even more movement adjustments? Granted, you might need an 8K+ sensor for that but, hey, at least there's an excuse to go beyond 4K. =)

Don't worry. Here's 10,560 X 10,560 pixels for you.
