Hi,
i'm working on a 90 min feature film for a german tv station (26 days of shooting). we transcoded the footage to DNxHD 36 - now its time for the relink. - but it does not work for the half of the material.
after 13 days of shooting we got a new HP Z800 with the same OS - win7 and the same MC5 (maybe with a little update to 5.0.3)
now i can relink the days 14-26 without a problem. the first 13 days remain offline.

The material of the first 13 days has no AuxTC - thats the only difference to the material from the other days. Manually typing in the AuxTC does not bring a change.

I tried nearly everything, every relink option etc. it won't work. :willy_nilly:

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Did you use two different methods to transcode the material? For example, AMA for some, then REDCINE X for others?

Hi,
-no, all the material is transcoded with the MC5 via AMA.

Hmmm.... Let me do some digging.

Did you take all your DNxHD 36 material offline first?

I got this problem last week because used the MODYFY/SOURCE on AMA clips.

yes, the DNxHD media is hidden ( XAvidMediaFiles ) and i have not modified any clips.

I transcoded all footage the same way, -link to ama volume, set source settings, transcode to DnxHD 36 with quarter debayer... exact same workflow for the whole footage.
may be the change to the Z800, moving the project or the mini-update from MC 5.0.2 to 5.0.3 has caused it?

I cant imagine why that would change anything. Still digging.

Hi,
i tried something, - still the same "no clips were relinked"
i even tried an old ama bin from the transcode (out of the avid trash), it refreshes but the masterclips remain offline...

Any ideas???

Does anyone know what the AuxTC of the R3D-Files stands for?

The time of day timecode is in the START and the absolute timecode is in the AuxTC1.
Media Composer tracks both timecodes.

Thank you Michael for the hint.

The Start-TC of the old masterclips was set to 00:00:00:00.
Why? I don't know. But the first 13 days were transcoded with the MC 5.0.1 and the other 13 with 5.0.3 - maybe the update caused something weird.
Everytime when I tried to relink one of the old masterclips, its Start-TC was deleted.
Now I modify the TC and the relinking works perfectly :-)

Glad to hear it. Phew!
