Hi all,

Just wanted to update all the people who answered my 'What to do in L.A." thread a coupla weeks ago. Here's the skinny:

- went to Sushi Roku. Loved it. A lot. Great sushi, great atmosphere. We ended up going there twice, and the second time actually bumped into a fellow REDuser.net member and had dinner together...awesome. Had a real nice Japanese micro-brewed rice beer. GREAT tip.
- Tito's Tacos. Went there on Day 1. Had the tacos, an enchilada, and a tamale. As soon as I saw the lineup outside, I knew this was gonna be a good tip. Very good tacos.
- La Parilla Mexican Restaurant. Whoa! This place is nuts. Best guacamole in history. Never had anything come close to this guac. The molcajete was stellar. This was easily the best Mexican food my wife and I have ever had. Our only regret was that we didn't try this until our last night in L.A. We really want to eat there again. Sooooo good. Also liked the mariachi guy. Good times.
- In n' Out Burger. Always wanted to try it. Didn't really like it. But glad I tried it.
- Santa Monica. 3rd street promenade was good. Didn't really care much for the beach or the pier. Too busy. Too many group tours.
- Venice Beach. Good place to spend a half day.
- Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach. Okay, so I got this tip from Vladimir at the Collaborative training and not from my previous thread, but these were my two favourite beaches, so wanted to post it here and thank Vladimir for that tip.

That's about all we had time for during our short stay. I just wanted to post to say thank you to all the people who answered my original thread. Your suggestions made L.A. infinitely more enjoyable than just trying to find some good places on my own. Very much appreciated. I am just filing this experience as number 867 on the list of why I love REDuser.net, and all the people that post here. Cheers.

You obviously didn't order your double double Animal style.

I like the Double Double Protein sytle...skipping the fries...for that extra calories I don't need.

I forgot to mention that restaurant. I'm glad you enjoyed!!! Darn, my mouth is watering, now...ahhhhhhh!!!!

In and out food is terrible if you order it "stock".

I didn't learn this lesson until pretty late in the game and nobody told me it could be made otherwise.

If any Redusers are ever in the SF Bay Area then they CAN'T leave before trying Jeffrey's Hamburgers in either down town San Mateo or Menlo Park right on El Camino. Voted best burger in the Bay Area...all I can say is if you can handle the cholesterol, order a double cheeseburger w/ avocado, the garlic fries, and a chocolate shake; you won't be disappointed or the least bit sorry. Just thought I'dt throw that in here since the topic of burgers came up.

EDI: FTW, i should mention that Jeffrey's also grinds their meat daily and in house..so you can safely order your burger medium rare! It's unbelievably delicious.

Actually, if you go to the website (www.in-n-out.com) the "secret menu" is there. I think it was more fun when it really was "secret," though - made it more of a "locals only" thing.

Sushi Roku - Sushi Roku

Salmon Caviar - Salmon Caviar

Both soo good I had to say them twice.

BTW Mr. Divils thanks for dinner.

Contact me about that video playback setup, I've had some new ideas that have been keeping me up lately.
