Been transcoding and working with R3D files this past two weeks 10-12 hours a day. This morning i turn on my computer, get back in a project and into RCX build 340 (been using all week)....I have no monitor out of my RR card to my Monitor. I have changed no software, done no upgrades/downgrades.

I've restarted RCX, my computer, checked monitor, but no luck. RED, any suggestions before i begin overhauling all red software etc....

Thanks,
Johnny

After further analysis....NOT a REDROCKET or RCX problem.
I get no input signal at all on my monitor---the Monitor in question is the HP DREAMCOLOR MDL# LP2480ZX --- i can plug in HDMI; DVI-D; Display and it does not recognize a signal.

Called HP this morning and there is no diagnostics other than changing and testing cables in which i've already done.

SOLUTION: HP is sending me out a new monitor. (i must confess that this was a surprise). they did not ask me to send my monitor back first. They are sening one out monday for next day delivery on Tuesday. Then there is a return label to send my non-working monitor back to them). Suddenly i'm in shock with HP and this type service. I recall latter years of not so great customer service....hat is off to them on this one. Might also have to do with fact that it's not an item in their consumer dept, but rather in their business dept.

I think this is my own self help thread. BUT, I'm posting here so that if any other DREAMCOLOR users experience similar problems as i have here, you have something to try.

*Background: I recall having a problem like this about 3 or 4 months ago....but details are hazy. So, after numerous restarts and cycling on/off dreamcolor; selecting different inputs---display port; DVI-D and HDMI---NOTHING WORKS--the Dreamcolor just does not notice a signal input.

SOLUTION: So....sitting here i recalled what i tried months ago...UNPLUGGING the power (i'd recycled it several times) BUT, physically disconnecting it and then plugging it back in FOR SOME REASON...seemed to cure the problem. I have no idea why. But, after disconnecting the power from the back of the DC and then plugging it back in....ALL SIGNALS are now recognizable. Well....there it is...why? who knows. BUT, now that a new one is on the way....I'll go ahead and and switch it out even though it may be fine. But, in the off chance this is some internal glitch...well, adios to this DC and hello to a new one.

After all, there's a computer in there.

well...funny thing is that HP has no standard procedure to run you through ANY procedure to see if you have the monitor setup properly or (as in this case) a full power down and power up. Might save them some trouble to cover some minor procedures like this. I ALWAYS forget that in case of strange computer problems that after a powerdown it might be a good idea to actually unplug the power for ten seconds. I have no idea what the theory other than getting all power out of the unit is behind this or if it's just urban legend.

Looks like I may have to call HP. I don't get a signal on my Dreamcolor from the Red Rocket BOB HDMI output.

try that full disconnect. disconnect power on back of monitor and at 110v source. Make sure all those connections have not tension and are pushed in all the way. That's what did it for me.

I just installed RRC and set-up BOB on a MacPro.
Did all the required firmware (except for the new ones released today).
So far I have not got the BOB to work.
Using RCX for software.
Ill report after installing all new updates.
