Can anyone tell me if it is possible to strap 2 Fixed Lens 3K Scarlet's together in a 3D configuration?

That's what I wanted to do also, but the Lens Diameter looks too big for getting the right lenght between left and right eye.
Would really like to hear from someone at RED about that thou...

But it's not the fixed one.
Which means getting Lenses, switching them, or get zoom Lenses. They need to be controlled electrically to focus both the same time etc. Fixed one would be a lot easier.

Not to be rude but you can put ANY two cameras next to each other to shoot s3D.
But to be honest Scarlet fixed – should it be released – would be a perfect camera for 3D due to it's slim design, light weight, high bit-rate, genlock and zoom lens.

LOL what exactly is the right distance from the lens anyway? A: No more than 1/30th of the distance from your nearest object. Most 3D is shot with a very small interaxial, and this needs to be consistently and accurately adjusted to give a different level of depth and feel in your image depending on mood/style.
In other words, for the full s3D production you need a beamsplitter as well as a side by side rig, so camera/lens width becomes irrelevant.

get a daggum mirror rig then. or wait and get the miniPrimes

Even with the miniprimes you'll still want a mirror rig sometimes.
Plus you have the advantage of synching lenses if you get the 8x Fixed - since the lens is fly by wire you can presumably operate multiple Scarlets from one RedMote.
I just hope the tolerances are tight in manufacturing (eg one les doesn't behave very differently to the other in a non-linear way). Or there is a way to calibrate them.
The money you save over a whole setup with controllers, motors synching focus, zoom, etc would be huge though.

The statement that any two cameras can be placed side by side to shoot s3D is indeed true, but in most cases it would be wide stereobase (hyperstereo) 3D and not extremely useful for most shooting conditions. The image posted above is one of the first ever shown of Scarlet (I believe) and although I know nothing more about it than anybody else who goes to NAB or similar events, I think the current configuration of Scarlet is wider than what is shown there.
Even what was originally shown was proposed to have a 2.75" (69mm) stereobase which is fairly wide. 21st Century 3D's 3DVX (http://www.21stcentury3d.com/3d-cameras/history/) systems had a stereobase of this width and we heard about it often from pundits throughout the years that camera was in use. It is good for wide shots where you have a fair distance between camera and subject, or situations where the background is not too far away, but overall a stereo base that wide is limiting for most situations.

From the images of the fixed lens Scarlet that I've seen there doesn't seem to be all the rings (focus, zoom, iris), just the focus on the lens. So if zoom and iris are placed somewhere else on the camera how would you lock the focus, zoom and iris? Would RED have a link cable between each camera that locks them together? I would be great if this was so. I would like it available for all of the Scarlet and Epic range. 3D I feel is going to be used a lot more once people release its benefits for certain applications. Its a fun industry to be in right now.

p.s.
The larger censored EPIC's could use a beam splitter over the lens making the left & right views within the same frame.

Yes. They are controlled by the RedMote... which can control more than one camera. Additionally, they might also do some kind of sync cable thing.
Sync cable could potentially do stuff that the RedMote couldn't - like precisely match genlock, timecode etc.
But just a RedMote controlling multiple cameras would be awesome - and tons cheaper than buying some crazy expensive C-motion rig.

There is an awesome assortment of EPICS/Scarlets on Neutron rigs in that web album. Its dope.
