As a fascinated observer, I was unable to find on Red's web site how many frame rates the Red camera is capable of achieving?

Can anyone please tell me how many? Maximum, minimum?

From what to what?

Thanks very much in advance,

- Nicholas

still in the works...

but 1-30 in 4k and 1-120 in 2k (windowed) seems to be the current goal.

I think it was 1-100fps in 2K windowed Redcode RAW on CF cards / reddrive,
120fps would need to go through the uncompressed RAW port.

i had thought it was 100fps also, but was "corrected" by another reduser that it was 120. Either way it's unofficial.

As far as I've read (and things might have changed) the goal is 60fps for 4K and 120 for 2K (windowed). So far they are able to do up to 30fps for 4K and 72 for 2K. Shawn Nelson posted a clip on these forums shot on 2K@72fps (search for trampoline).

EDIT:
If you take a look at http://www.red.com/cameras/format_options you'll see it's 60fps@4K from the RAW port, 30fps@4K for flash/HD and 100fps@2K on flash/HD

In the first official release that supports Variable Frame Rates (VariSpeed) it will be

1 - 25 fps for 4K resolution

1 - 75 fps for 2K resolution (i.e. windowed sensor)

You may choose any of the frame rates between these limits.

Limits subject to change given additional development and / or faster media.

Wasn´t one of the goals in the past to offer 1-60fps @ 2K downsampled from the 4K full sensor (not windowed) thus preserving the 35mm field of view or I´m just dreaming ?

Hi all!!
if there is a diference between 4k and 2k, is there a diference between aspect ratios?, 2,35 in 4k will give you more frames that going in 1,85
Sorry For My English (from now on SFME)

We don't know yet if switching aspect ratios will enable higher framerate capability. The request to squeeze as many fps from the camera as possible has been made numerous times and I am sure they will work hard to give us the best solutions they can make possible. First to come is slated to be a scaled mode to offer 35mm DOF in 2K at up to 60p.
