I‘m looking for travel videos giving a brief overview/impression of famous cities and places (2-3 minute videos), i.e. 3 clips of San Francisco. Combined with Google Maps clients will get a first impression of travel destinations or places of interest. I‘ve done this for Mallorca, Spain, and Rome (www.hd4.tv). But now thanks to RED Camera I want to deliver higher quality, 1k Flash h.264 online videos and other format options for download (i.e. 1080p, 2k).
I‘m thinking of $1,000 per 2-3 minute videos under following conditions:
1. Only RED Footage is welcome, sorry Sony, Panasonic ...
2. Delivery 2k QT ProRes HQ and some 4k frame grabs (later 4k master files)
3. I‘ll have the unlimited rights for internet distribution
4. Geo-tag your video, places of interest are named
This is my first idea, it‘s different to joost, youtube etc., because I want control over content and quality. Details have to be discussed.

I do alot of travelling so this might be of interest to me. I'd retian the stock footage rights correct?

I 'll need only the rights for internet delivery including youtube for preview. So you can host your vidoes on other platforms as well.
Clients don't have to pay for downloads on my website, this business model is not working. Traffic, marketing, google adsense is the only way to go.

I would be interested in this, Claus. Live near the beaches of Pensacola, Ft. Walton, Destin, Panama City, etc, if you have any need for that sort of footage. Won't get my camera until March or April, though.

Hi Eclaire,
I'm interested in some footage from Florida (3-5 clips) and some 4k frame grabs in a first step, because I want to expand in other regions as well.
Any suggestions?
Best regards,
Claus

Hey Claus,
Sounds very interesting to me. One question. When you say unlimited rights for internet distribution, does that mean in a strict sense (i.e. only internet display/exhibition), or would you retain the right to distribute the files over the internet and allow the recipient to transfer that into any format of his or her choosing?

Hi Claus,
I'd be very interested in this. I'll be in Yellowstone this Dec/January, then London in January, Egypt (Valley of the Kings, Aswan, surrounding areas) also this January, then Panama in February. If you want footage from any of those locations PM me.
Thanks!

Hey jimarri,
unlimited rights means unlimited by time. So you can host your videos on other platforms as well. Normally I would host a 1k Flash h.264 version for preview and other Quicktime versions like 2k h.264, 1080p or 1k for free download. Please, have a look on my website www.hd4.tv, there are some videos from Mallorca and Rome.
Let me point out some more details I'm looking for:
1) Only Red 4k shots
2) Audio with ambient noise and maybe some background music
3) Delivery 2k QuickTime ProRes HQ downscaled from 4k. I'll downsize to other formats (i.e. 1k QT, Flash h.264, 2k compressed etc) with my equipment, so you don't have to do this
4) 5 to 10 4k frame grabs per video, depends on content/location
5) All videos are ready to host, there is no more need for cut, color crading etc. , only downsizing
6) All videos have named places of interest, so the videos are more or less self-explaining
7) Final credits with: Presented by HD4.TV, produced by your name/company etc.
8) HD4.TV always top left (please have look at my videos on www.hd4.tv)
9) I'll have the non-exclusive rights for internet delivery unlimited by time, that means you can host on other platforms as well
10) You'll declare that you own the copyrights, I don't want to run into copyrights issues.
11) Every video is about 3 minutes, maybe sometimes a bit longer or shorter depends on content/location
Under above conditions I'll pay US $ 1,000 per 3-minute video.
Btw, in a few days or so I'll host the first australian footage.

Are you still looking for travel videos? Any assignment from India, SriLanka and Malaysia?

Hi Sarath,
Shooting with RED is only my hobby and so is my YouTube-Channel HD4.TV. It‘s working like a snowball system. Started with 100 views per day 4 years ago and now 5-8,500 views every day without any marketing. Yes, I‘m waiting for some Epic/Scarlet footage from India. Maybe this summer?

Do I understand that you are asking for an edited sequence and that you want the rights to the edited sequence and not the shots themselves (meaning, you would not have the right to sell the individual shots or use them in any other way for internet use)?
Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,
I only need the non-exclusive and unlimited by time copyrights for internet distribution including mobile internet (YouTube, iTunes etc.). So you can upload/sell on other platforms or websites as well.
