For those who didn't see it before the website crash, check out this short film. In my opinion, these are very clean shots in very dark conditions. This is from Brian Przypek who used Offhollywood's cameras. The original post mentioned that he didn't use more than 4k of lighting anywhere.

Looks really nice. Especially the car stuff.
Did I catch a light reflection on the hardwood floor when the woman is lying on the bed, or was that just the practical?

i understand that original post is lost during site crash...
can yo tell us little bit more about lighting conditions, setup used, lenses etc. during these night exterior shots when red camera is on the car?
is it possible to find somewhere 2k samlpes of these shots?
thank you.
filip
p.s.
looks to me that after a few more weeks - since sample footage is showing more and more possibilities of this camera - we will have really excellent footage/links to show to the others who thought that red is vaporware :)

No 2k, but how about 4k? :-) They used Offhollywood's cameras and he has some 4k TIFFs up, look at "suspicion_01.tiff" through "suspicion_11.tiff"

Lenses = Arri Ultra Primes? check the BTS stills for a glimpse. I don't know any more and I wasn't involved in any way, I'm just reporting what I've seen posted here.

I'm bustin' to have a peek at those tiffs but is it just me or is the link really slow. It's not behaving for me. Perhaps there's a mirror?
Thanks for posting anyway.

Arri Ultra Primes, huh...the bokeh in that scene where she's getting out of the car looks so beautifully delicious...wow

Here is a Flash h.264 Version of suspicion/facination_street for all with small bandwidth:

Although it's only 1.5 Mbit/s the quality for web delivery is very impressive.
You'll need Flash Player 9 update from

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw that shot - it's gorgeous. I know some people prefer the look of anamorphic bokeh, but there's definitely something to be said for a natural, clean, undistorted image. I prefer this look all the way.

Claus,
Although image quality is of utmost importance to me, I have to say you are doing a lot of impressive work with your flash versions of these files. I can't believe you took that scene and squished it into 19MB with that much success! There's actually one shot where the compression actually smoothed away the visible noise in the picture (the only one I felt looked slightly noisy - the scene where the man leaves the "upholstery" building). I know there must be users out there who don't have the bandwidth or processing power to smoothly play back some of the larger clips, so what you're providing is a really nice service. Just thought I should say "thanks" for those who may not come on to post appreciation themselves.

Yes, the link is really slow, maybe it's the site but I think all of reduser is trying to download these now. Patience. :-)

Indeed this is some great footage very impressive to see how the camera performs in low light conditions (this is always everyones first question about HD).
Amazing compression!
Thank you!

Since my original post was lost when this site crashed here is a new attempt to answer some questions in regard to Suspicion and how it was shot.
Red One Camera @ 4k
Arri Ultra Primes - 10mm - 100mm
2 suitcase generators - 2000 watts each (one was dedicated to monitor and batteries for the most part)
Units - 2 - 2x4 Diva lights
2 - 4x4 kino flo
1 - 2x4 kino flo
1 - mole 2 shot (2 x 750 watt pars)
1 - mole baby
2 - LED stick-ups
The car mount footage was done with available light.
I shot the entire piece wide open on the ultra primes.
Locations were chosen very carefully to maximize available light.
I spent four hours at Offhollywood timing the 2 minutes of footage that is available online. There will be a screening of the 4k film out on Wed. Oct. 24th in NYC. Any 4k TIFFS that are not part of the footage on my site are untimed and should not be judged for quality as I have found that the RAW files are no representation of what the camera is capable of. The beauty is in the timed footage.
Once again here is a link to my site: www.przypek.com
There is a much larger file of the same footage available there as quicktime h.264

As Haäkon reported, not everyone (including me) has a very fast computer and in my case, a pretty limited download limit per month (12 gigabyte) so having this small files, while still seeing some great image quality is very nice indeed, thank you!
great images!

Hi BPrzypek
Thanks for the great footage. So whats your feeling about the camera? Could you even push the ASA any further without getting to harsh noise?
What's your impression of the dynamic range?
Thanks for your repley.
Cheers
Tim
