As the title says really.....

Thumbnails of clips in the bin don't show the clip - just a black square.

There's nothing in the histogram window, just black.

Hi Chris,
One reason for black frames can be that Storm has hit a corrupt frame and the SDK has tripped up.
A check for this is to restart Storm - which will re-initialise the SDK.
Worth a try.
All the best,
Chris

Or you may have opened the clip previously in REDcineX and set it to REDcolor2 and/or REDgamma2, which STORM does not yet support. Try removing any RMD files from your RDC folders.

RedRocket installed (v1.3.5) and getting corrupted Thumbs (screen grab) and no (black) Histogram
Sampler RBG values corrupted (see screen grab)
Gave up rendering a sample out (taking for ever)

10.6.5 MacBookPro
By contrast on MBP works fine (and renders much faster !)

Love the interface ... hopefully it wont be fussy about hardware in the near future (my guess)

I have the same ATI card and get the same results. It's a known issue. Don't know if they can fix it.

It is apparently a problem with older ATI cards. I also find that with my card the scopes kill real-time playback, and the histogram doesn't work at all. Do you get the same?

I have a Rocket card in the Mac Pro, so the rendering is faster, but I get better performance working on my laptop.

Yes, same behaviour, scopes turns the app into something not really usable and histogram is simply black ... nothing appears.

Rendering for me is very slow; once complete, the output is a multicoloured snow storm ;-( ... similar in fact to how most of the thumbnails appear !
In the MacBookPro it's fine, UI-behaviour seems as I expected it, rendering output also ok.

What puzzels me is that the RC-X_b351 is fine on both machines, so I expected Storm to be also ok ... sadly not (yet).

Hi David, unfortunately the older cards can't handle the realtime playback of the scopes in addition to the Viewer. We have been trying the ATI Radeon HD 4870 cards in the office. This card would be a good upgrade for a MacPro.

thanks,
Dan

Hi David, I've logged this as 15736. Even though it's an old card we shouldn't display corrupted thumbnails.

thanks,
