Playback Audio in Super Speed

I know this was a problem from B1. It still happens in B2.

When I first load a clip and hit 'play' the sound plays back at super-speed. The pitch sounds normal, but the speed is something like 20x normal.

Don't know if there was a fix.

Hi Dave, can you send us a copy of the files that you are using? If this is possible can you drop us a mail to beta-storm@thefoundry.co.uk and we will get an ftp account setup for you.

We've had a few people reporting that their audio files are either playing too fast or too slow and it would be great if we can get a handle on this.

That's understandable, I have another lead on someone that may be able to send us some errant files that cause the same issue. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Dave, additional files would be great. Just drop us a mail to beta-storm@thefoundry.co.uk :smile: We have made a fix in 1.0v1b4 for the files that we obtained but it would be good to know if this fixes all cases. If you could try 1.0v1b4 and let us know how it behaves.

With build 4 i am getting the exact opposite problem. Video runs with audio playing in slow motion. Sending an email now.

I can verify that this bug is still open in beta 4.

I've got plenty on files that exhibit the slow audio / lower pitch change problem if you still need them, I'd be happy to send some along.

Exhibits on this mac and a similarly equipped 2009 model.

We have found another issue where playing backwards the audio can still play forwards which we are looking into. If you can let me know your repro steps, that would be great.

So here's what i've done:

Launched Storm
file, import file, selected same file sent
drag into viewer
hit space bar (x1)

Here's what system I'm using

Mac Book Pro 17"
mac os X 10.6.5
2.6 GHz intel core 2 duo
4GD 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT Graphics card
Reading files from 1TB drive via E-Sata cable through express 34 slot

Yep! The mystery continues! We made quite a few fixes in next beta drop which will be available soon. It'll be good to know if it still happens in the upcoming Beta 8.
