View Full Version : Final Cut Pro Sequence Settings?

hi, when I bring the proxies into Final cut pro, I can't seem to find the correct sequence settings to use so that the proxie will play real time without need for a render on a timeline.
Anybody out there know them off hand? For whatever reason it doesn't automagically change the sequence settings when I drop the clip onto the timeline like it does for every other kind of clip i've used in the past.
Using final cut pro version 6.0.1, and latest qt component as of last wed.
Thanks!

oif! That's not good. So, is this just how it is? everthing on the timeline has to be rendered to whatever codec we set our timeline to? Kind of defeats the purpose of the proxies in the first place doesn't it?

Noah will you be releasing any RED workflow tutorials alongside FCP?

Perhaps- as soon as I figure it out for myself.

This was a pretty good overview of current FCPS2 workflow. Seems very clear and it will only get more streamlined with the release of RedCine.

Will realtime playback be addressed in the next version of FCP?
This is supposed to be the RED native one. I would say this is a temporary issue.

My understanding is that this will solve the problem:

I just heard that the next update of FCP will include the necessary codecs to give us real time playback in sequences. Man.. i hope that comes soon.. seeing as how we're starting a feature next week.
haha?
