Grüezi everyone
I was wondering if anyone has an idea of how many Reds are coming to Switzerland... I count some 8 in the Reduser Member Map, but there have to be more. Also I'm interested if you guys know what companies ordered reds to rent out. I heard rumors about Light & Byte buying some cameras?
Also, what cost do you expect regarding shipping and taxes (custums)?
And: are there any tests like the LART planned? Can I join? :)
And: any reds in the Zurich-Area? My offer: I come shoot the unpacking if you do so when I get mine (some day)... :)
Ok then, all the best!

Hi,
I am Guessing 20-30 Reds in Switzerland before long. No idea what people will do for lenses / accessories or lighting but that's another story.
Thats probably 2-3 times the no of focus pullers, life will get interesting.

Hi Hobbes
I will rent my RED out but only with me as DP, Operator or DIT.
After a year or so, when everybody knows the RED and the workflow, I will rent it out also without me.
As far as I know, there must be some 20 reservation holders in switzerland. The nubers are going up and up. Switzerland will have the biggest RED density next to LA or NY I guess.
Yeah Stephen, there will be a fight about who gets the best focuspullers. I think we should start a focuspuller bootcamp as soon as possible.:weight_lift:
So Hobbes, if you want to shoot with RED, just call me around January. And yes, there will be some testing days, of course.
I'm in the middle of planing stuff.
So hopefully RED "stays on fire" in a good way.
Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim, it does make sense to watch your red VERY closely! I suppose I will be doing the same thing. I'm sure you'll be able to tell me a lot of stories before I get mine (probably being around June - August 08) - you guys are very lucky ;)
Bootcamp: hell, I'm in! :weight_lift:
Shoot Red in Jan: well sure, but there's no way I will be able to pay you (putting together the funds for my own equipment is eating up all I got), so I guess I'll have to wait a little longer :whistling: But I'm more than sure that Red gets lit in a very good way around here (all the best to everybody in Cali btw)... Greetings

Hi Hobbes
yeah, I represent and push the RED in switzerland like crazy.
2008 is going to be a fun year for cinematographers. Like the wild wild west.
I have some projects that already got a green light for the RED.
So what ever you do with the RED, you gotta do it right. The first year is the most important for all of us. Just build the cam and they will come..
Cheers

Hey Tim, that's a good thing, sound familiar. I feel like that Apple-guy trying to convince every PC to just try it out. Might have a nice project coming up, myself. Just needs green light from the Filmförderung... So very excited about everything. Ok then, I'm off to a FinalCutPro training, let's see if they can tell me some things about redcode and stuff... :) Greetings, Tobias
