I should have thought of this earlier but I didn't. Hopefully all of the fires are out but if not someone might want to be the only guys around with 4k fire footage. Might be worth something.

I saw some today shot with #99. It looked pretty cool!

Yep, Kip shot some pretty remarkable footage of the fires. Maybe he'll post it if he gets a chance.

Yeah sure, I can post the Fire Footage. I was hoping to use Red Relay but it appears to be down for the time being. Now I'm not quite sure how to get the file hosted. Any ideas?

Thanks

Use Vimeo, and make sure you set the clip to public, that way people can download the source file, but also get a quick "web HD" preview of it. Vimeo Rocks!

Up to 500 MB uploads a week!

Here's the link: http://vimeo.com/361789

This is the video I put together for the Promax screening at Chapman University. It's a mixture of 2K/4K & 24/72fps. I was shooting handheld using the 300 and the 18-50 from a hillside near my home in Orange CA.

I have also included some fireworks shots I grabbed that same night. Growing up next to Disneyland will give you a healthy sense of irony, however please don't read too much into anything here. I was simply pressed for time and decided to combine the two clips into one. I am very grateful these fires manged to stay out of my friends & family's homes. I hope all you So.Cal REDUSERs are as lucky as I am.

Thanks to Cardmaverick for the Vimeo tip. Hopefully it works out...

Senior Curtis!!! Just watched your Spain presentation. Great stuff, man.

Brook said something funny to me the other day at the Chapman screening: "Who knew being a geek on the internet would of paid off so wonderfully?"

I think that applies to the both of you, so congratulations.

And yes, to answer your question there's a couple of shots of the fire at 72fps with the 300mm. I did a batt. change and forgot to reset my VariSpeed so there is also a couple shots at 24.

Hope all is well with you my friend and thanks for your continued support of the Indies.

Kip

P.S. Let me know if you are ever again short on RED demo cams. I would be happy to donate #99 to your cause.

Did it upload all the way? I think it might have not gone thru, I can't see it either. It could also be the codec used too.

I got it....
Man those fires are awesome...
If those shots were on sticks
and better focused you would
have some real sellers.

You know, there might be to many people trying to view at the same time, just a theory, I'm downloading it. We'll see what happens.

Ok, I downloaded, nice stuff! But it stops dead in its tracks around the fireworks, maybe its an incomplete file?

Yes, all tech support questions should be deferred to the Cardmaverick.
His office hours are between 9am to 5pm Mon thru Fri.

The file is 250mb. Should I make it smaller?

Does anyone else have a mirroring solution?

be too slooooow.

Weird, maybe my download got screwed up, my computer tears threw all the other red footage oh well, what I can see still looks cool. The Vimeo site says 229.61 MB though, not 250 MB.
