I am going into "bug" mode on this.. Which means I will consistantly ask for this until an answer surfaces.. It would be cool if an answer could come quickly, but I am comfortable being a P.I.T.A. if nessesary.
:)

My request:

RED team (Or anyone who may have the answer):

Please provide us with the wireing diagram for the battery mounts. You were kind enough to provide the mount with screw holes so we could put on an AB mount instead of an adaptor over the V-mount (Which someone on here said was not a good solution). However, without knowing which wire to put where, the screw holes are useless. As well as the gesture.

This is not a complex question, but a lot of users would love to have the answer.

Thank you and praying the answer will come soon.

Jay

I refuse to believe the reason we don't know already is due to a desire to sell RED batteries.. I simply think people are busy, but this answer is really needed.

Better yet, provide an AB mount direct from the RED factory. There are a lot of us already using AB set ups.

Uh yeah... But what you are asking for take time, research, and the building or purchasing of a new product. That's fine for sometime next year.

What I am asking for is an answer THEY ALREADY HAVE.

Sooooo? Anyone want to answer?

Sorry, Jay. We have been busy making sure your camera doesn't experience another delay. That is our 1st priority.

We get thousands of questions everyday (some online like this one) and we do the best we can to answer them. But we have limited resources.

I've asked two from the team to answer this question. You should see a post pretty soon.

Hey Jay.. the answer isn't very simple as wherever your sourcing your AB plate from the internal wiring is going to be different.

If your looking for what the positive (red) and negative (black) wires should transfer down the cable when you open it up, Red and Orange wires are positive, and the Brown and Black wires goto the Negative. Do not try and put power through a single wire, the amps must be divided amongst all 4 wires. You will see two other wires, a Green and a Yellow, those are for Battery bus clock and data.

On the Lemo, Pin 1 and 2 are +VBatt . Pin 3 and 4 are -VBatt . Again, make sure you use both pins for each polarity.

here is the lemo info:

IMPORTANT!!! please double check all your wiring and always use a meter. If you are not sure about anything, let a professional handle this. It is not worth turning your $20,000 camera into a brick by making a simple wiring error.

Jarred:

Can you do the same for the DC out connector. The connector "what is what" thread gives the part number but not specific on the pinout for +; _; GPI (trigger?); and it says it has tally;. I'm guessing from that description that: 1 is +; 2 is -; 3 is trigger; and 4 is tally; but I really don't like to guess (or want to make any bricks).

quote from other thread:
C) DC Out, GPI(VTR run), GPO(Tally)
Lemo Part FGG.0B.304.CLAD52
1.
2.
3.
4.

Just found a post from Brook saying:

"My notes have the auxiliary power outputs described as follows:
LEMO FGG.0B.304.CLAD42Z ... and he puts 1 as negative 4 as positive with 23 NC This is standard for an XLR power but really need to confirm which it is and also about the trigger.

Thanks.

Hey Jim,

I understand. And you will get no arguement from me on your selection of what's important! Nevertheless I'd like to thank you for moving the wheels forward on this. And JarRED! Thanks for the answer. Actually I am going to send this information to Anton Bauer since this sort of thing is outside my paygrade. Hopefully they will know how to apply your answer to the plate.

Hey Jim! This was the first time you ever responded directly to a post of mine on the forum (Or at least used my name!). Cool! Thanks! I know it sounds stupid, but I'm a fan!

:)

for trigger right now, use the lens control port trigger.

as for the AUX power in the back, Pin 1 is -Vout and Pin 4 is +Vout. leave 2 and 3 alone for right now.

And Aux power out is max. 1 amp at 12 volts.. keep that in mind before you try and power motors etc. from it.

Good info to have... I might suggest this thread be renamed, so that it comes up quickly in a search?
