Hello, we are working on a multimedia experience for a local restaurant and are wanting Red footage from as many places of the world as we can get. This is what we are wanting, Red owners from different places shoot about 5 minutes of footage of interesting locations (ie: food markets, beach fronts, mountain scapes, lifestyle b-roll). We are thinking a total of 10 min. of excellent and broadcast worthy footage from each location. The footage would be locked off and have deep depth of field. We are hoping to get Red users who are local to such locations (London, San Francisco, anywhere in Asia, and other places in Europe, South America, Africa, North America, etc...ie. the world) to film this stuff, and either upload it to us or send it to us. Is anyone interested, what would you charge? If interested, you can either post here or email us @ contactus@freehillproductions.com. Obviously, probably a lot of the locations aren't populated with Reds yet, but we are starting the ball rolling and hopefully by Spring of next year have all the footage we would need to do this multimedia experience. More information to come.

I don't know how much experience you have buying stock footage.
There are a few companies on this list that are in the process of
getting ready to sell RED 4K footage. I think the RED footage will
demand a premium for awhile. I could be wrong. How are you displaying
the footage?

We aren't really interested in stock footage as this is mostly Restaurant oriented, so the likes of food markets, fish markets, etc... I don't see being top priority to other people shooting stock. And we want the .r3d files to color correct on our end. We would rather go this route and spend less money than having the client fly us around the world (although that would be really great) and spend a lot more. So, if anyone is interested.

Oh, forgot to mention that it is going to be shown across 3 52" hdtv's and stitched together in playback to create almost 4k resolution. It has worked for us thus far with the other things we are doing, so that's not a problem.

You could probably get a good rate if those shots were only
used for that presentation. I think the going rate is between
$75 & $150 per second. Most have a 10 sec minimum so
about $750-$1500. Maybe cheaper for a one playback kiosk.

Sounds like a job for stock footage to me....

But if you don't want to go the stock route, I think you need to be more specific. Put out a request for each shot or piece of footage and what you would like to pay and see what happens, negotiate from there.

Hi,
I'll be in Montana in Dec, England and Egypt in January, and Panama in February.
If you want shots from any of those locals I'd be happy to oblige, but I agree with Jeff, it'd be best to have a shot list and some prices.

Let me know if you're interested, thanks.

Shot list and specifics are still being worked out. Right now, we need interested people. As for prices, I've only put up bids and budgets for longer form projects, never for 10 min. of footage, so I'm not sure what the "industry standard" is. Thanks for the comments thus far.

No one knows yet what 4K footage will go for??
I was saying "Industry Standard" at a minimum is
like $750-$1500 for 10 sec of HD footage.

Of course unless you go the istockvideo route.
1080 footage is $50 a download...
but then the footage may pop up anywhere.
For your application that may not matter.

Hi

I'm interested as I will get my RED end of the year and will shoot some stuff up in the mountains on January/February. Switzerland is very known for mountains and for cheese. So, if you want, that I'll shoot something for you, give me a mail.

Here is a spot we did for a swiss cheese company.

Hi,
I'm interested. Have a look at www.suedtirol.info, it's the area I'm living in, it's where the mediterranean meets the alps (along the border between Italy and Austria). Do you have any deadlines? I'll get my Red around Feb/March '08. If you want to see some BetaSP frame-grabs to get an idea, please PM me. I've done quite a lot about traditional alpine farming as well as wine, apples etc. This is a great place to live in, especially from the nutritional POV

Cheers, Friedrich

PS per gli altri reduser italiani: non vi pare una sfida fatta a posto?

Strongbad_2Z,

I should have Red #137 in December some time, and I live in Utah. We have Zion's National Park, Bryce, Capitol Reef, the Salt Flats, etc., etc..

I also have access to Ziess Ultra Primes, and Master Primes.

Some of these locations are difficult to get permits for, though, so we would need to start the process early.

Hi Strongbad_2Z,

I Live in Toronto, Canada. I will be shooting Toronto's great China Town, Greek and Italian districts, Kensington Market etc. I will also be shooting Niagara Falls, and the world famous wine and fruit area Niagara on the Lake. Let me know if these interest you. I expect my 2 REDs in late January.

I've sent you a PM

Thanks for all the replies. I am not ignoring this thread or PM's, but making a list of locations, names, etc... We have a meeting with the owners next week so if anyone else is interested I'd like to take to them as many locations as possible. I can't say for sure what they are going to want, so I haven't replied to everyone's comments yet. Will know more details later next week. Thanks again.

Hi I will be getting my Red in January. I live on the Central Coast of California. I can get all kinds of wine vineyard shots, farmers market and coastal fish market shots, California Coastline shots and I'm a few hours away from San Fransisco and would be able to get shots throughout the city. As long as you are ok with footage coming in late January and early Feb. then I can provide you several different options.

thanks,
Omar

Looks like end of January or sometime in February for my RED. I will be shooting lots of things... Scenery, wildlife, outdoor lifestyle / sports, etc.. Located in Colorado, lots of opportunity for mountain vistas, nature / wildlife, just about anything. Much of it changes with the seasons.

Like I said before, a shot list would be helpful. But I'll be shooting as soon as I get the camera, for a multitude of purposes and projects, including for stock footage. If the timing fits with your project, we might be able to work something out here.
