Hey all - after a busy week after getting back from Barcelona with Steve Tammi's Red #17 (with DoP's Jendra Jarnagin and Pol Turrents), I've been converting, sifting, analyzing, etc. the footage we shot. Posted some stuff tonight, more to come, and it'll keep getting better and better as we go.

is the latest, with 2K JPEGs and 4K TIFFs of OCN images, Pshop adjusted, and more interestingly (I think), what COULD be done in camera. This post is largely a response to those who Don't Get It and complain about how flat the native Red images are.

You can push these images FAR in post, as most of us here know now but not everybody does. I've posted some pushed samples to show how far you can go without having the image look ridiculous....but you could push it even further if you need to, and it STILL doesn't break up like wet Kleenex in your hands whilst in post. LOVE THAT. Ever tried to push DVCPRO HD hard, especially dark browns, such as wood in a bar not lit properly? OUCH.

was the first chunk of stills (2K JPEGs and 4K source) from our first night's shoot, but is regretably soft due to the known backfocus issues (that we know about now). Grainy shots, but at NIGHT with no additional lighting looking out over Barcelona's seaside port.

For those who might care, descriptions, the PDF of my preso, stills and video of the whole presentation we did in Spain at the IFA Conference:

and

has my extensive notes from Jendra's lighting seminar for anyone else who (like me) hasn't done a lot of lighting.

As long as I'm posting a bunch of Red related links, here's the interview I did with Ted & Jim:

OK, Jarred, you can shoot me now for posting a bunch of links to another site on your board.

;D

I just gave gave it a quick scan but."Oh My..." would be an understatement.

Thank you Mike, Jendra, Steve and all the IFA people for bringing the experience home and for going further with the links and articles. This is really a powerful combination.
