What is the difference between shooting 4k 2:1 and 4k 16:9?
I have shot 4k 16:9 since the day I got my RED. Is this the norm?
Thanks in advance

4K 2:1 is more letterboxed than 4K 16:9. Same pixels across width ways, but shorter height wise.

There is no single "norm" in cinema - it depends what ratio you want to deliver at the end.
For HD TV delivery though, 16:9 is the normal aspect ratio.
