Red 17-50

Thinking about ordering this zoom. Is there a wait? Have the results been good?

It was the first lens I grabbed, needing to cover the wide end without spending a pile of dough. Really great glass. I use mine more as a variable prime than for live zooms.

Its probably important to realize that this lens vignettes at 17 and 18mm on the Epic sensor.

It only vignettes in FF mode from my understanding, and has coverage for 16:9 2:1 and 2.4:1. I really love mine and use it for just about everything.

The RPZ 17-50 is a great Zoom, and we will be posting some great footage soon shot on our EPIC-M8 ;)

Very smooth lens, solid yet not at all heavy, its short Physical form makes perfect
for hand held as well, but on Epic its just a perfect Marriage!

Pop the new Red Pro MB on it and you are ready to go, there should be no wait period,
but that we know can change on a day notice ;)

Please pardon my ignorance, but isn't FF on the epic sensor 16:9?

It appears that FF and 16:9 are not the same format, because deanan says that the 17-50 covers the easy scalable 16:9 format.
