Got this error while testing out render speeds to H264. The timeline is set at 1920x1080 and the footage is RED 4K.

Davinci Resolve v7.0.3
Mac OSX 10.6.6
Mac Pro 12-core 2.66 GHz with 24GB RAM
Quadro 4000

Is OS X in 64 bit mode?

http://macperformanceguide.com/SnowLeopard-64bit.html

If not, I bet that will fix it. (Yes I know your 12 core should boot 64 bit by default... but did you check?)

Also... from what I can see that's a Resolve 32 bit limitation not an OS X 32bit limit- since Quicktime renders 1920x1080p h.264 just fine.

Alexander that's the first thing I thought too... so googled and got the same page you referenced. At least I now know that the 2010 Mac Pro's default boot into 64 bit extensions.

Hmm... I wonder if Resolve has any settings that you have to fiddle for 64 bit?
