hi,

just out of curiosity, anybody know what causes the color shift in this sample? the pic is a screendump of two sequences in quicktime. the above is a tiff sequence exported from RedAlert. It is darker and has fuller colors. and the lower is a ProRes422 export from the sequence above, done in final cut. what causes it? max 8-bit support for RGB in FCP?

any help appreciated.

EDIT: Posted actual tiffs of the sequences

What setting is final cut set to gamma wise when importing still images?

Whats the bit depth of the tiff's ?

sounds like a gamma issue along with a downsample of the chroma.

FCP will adjust gamma of incomming RGB data, and often remap it to 16-235 also - there's a setting in FCP6 that allows you to control how this works.
