UK Christmas RedMeet™

Hi ladies and gents,

Just wondering if anyone fancies a RedMeet™ around the festive season. I'd be happy to bring my camera along if it has arrived, but it would have to be a daytime meet, and I wouldn't be able to drink otherwise I would forget it lol.

I just thought about it a moment ago and figured that if were going to do anything we'd probably need to book in advance.

Hi

I'm based in London and hoping to see Red #1590, #2000 close to the current schedule.

If anyone is looking to test a Red in London before I get mine. I might be happy to hire a few different Lenses (Zeiss, Cooke ...) and help with a studio/lighting etc.. I may already be OK and will be testing a camera in the 200's but that's looking like a busy camera. Any thoughts ?

Looking forward to discussing UK (and general) Red issues.

Hi Folks,

I can't do Sunday now but I can do Saturday the 24th i.e This Saturday.
So I'll be in The Couch from about 2pm till about 5pm with one or two other RED people. All are welcome. There is no particular purpose apart from swapping the usual RED banter. Of course; I've become an award winning director since we last met, so I guess the first drink will be on me.

I still think we should plan a proper XMAS meet though in a couple or three weeks e.g Sat 8th or 15th Dec would be OK for me.

By all means chip in with your favorite dates,

Hi Eren,

There are about 25 res holders that we know of in the UK. There are certainly more; but a number of organisations who have a res # wouldn't want to muddy their boots with us enthusiasts! Ha!

There are about 30 people on 'our' UK RED email list; just PM me your email if you want to be included.

Yep! We all supped a few!

Good for you! Did you get a res number as part of your confirmation? It's really not clear at the moment how long it will take to clear the current res holders; let alone you 'Johnny Come Latelies' ? I think it's safe to say that by the time you get yours it will pretty stable and thoroughly sorted!

So what came of the redmeet in the end? Did anyone show up with their red? I heard whispers Axis films had one or two on the test bench at shepperton a couple of weeks ago, and then sent it back to the states.

Hi Johnny,
No cameras at the Red meet, quite crowded with Christmas parties and the like anyway so wouldn't have been great in retrospect. Couldn't tell you about Axis films though.
