why?
I mean ... I dont get it - i want a camera to shoot with not as a prop :-)
I get that they are pretty but mine already has scratches - and I dont mind that - it is a workhorse. :-)
I hate to sound negative but I'd love to see more shots people have done and the issues they found- its a camera - shoot with it :-)

agreed mike. one of my favorite moments at preps with my red one #0031 or on shoots at the beginning of the day is when people whom have never seen my red one say, wow that thing looks beat up...music to my ears, EPIC #00087 had a scratch on the side "RED" letter logo within the first 36 hours...and i love that...like i always say in life about one's body, if you don't have any scars you're not trying hard enough. anyone can pay for a tattoo, but you literally bleed for your scars, ill take scars over tattoo's any day. get off the computer and go out and shoot...someone recently asked me why i am not posting as much....four things...E P I C.....

I totally see where you come from. I used to do a lot of caving. If you saw a bunch of nice clean cavers, all tricked out with the latest shiny gear, you thought: 'noobs'. If you saw a bunch of guys that looked like tramps or hobos, gear falling apart, one or two lights between the lot of them, you stepped well back: these were the real Hard Men, hardcore cavers, the best, most experienced, most competent.
But then again I also remember Colin Chapman, the legendary race car designer. He was the best too, and he had an expression I love and use: everything had to be "spot-bollock". It was his way of saying near enough wasn't good enough, it has to work perfectly and look perfect; everything on his race cars was beautifully finished and polished: "spot-bollock".
I tend to share the Chapman approach; even stuff that gets used hard, I like to keep gleaming and shiny and as near perfect as possible. Spot-bollock!

Totally agree Mike. I had to grin when I noticed in one of your NZ pics the gaffer tape on your brand new Epic. That's what it's all about. BTW, much as I was drooling over the camera, the memories of my days out working in various exotic (and not so exotic) locations came flooding back and made me smile. It's a tool and look what it allows you to do!

Ketch, do you ever shave or do you have a magical razor that gives you the 5 o' clock shadow look whenever you want? :001_tongue:
