It's not really a youtube clone. It's an ipTV/podcast client. The companies Miro has in their targets are private owned, closed source, ipTV clients like iTunes and Joost.
The Participatory Culture Foundation (the guys who make Miro) are awesome, they are all about open source content distribution. They have great outreach to indie filmmakers, and always try and help push their content. One of our shows has been on Miro from the start.

Is this aka The Venice Project? In that case I think it is a new company by the same people who started Skype. I've heard great things about this.
EDIT: Or maybe that is Joost. Forget it.
