What more can I say. I have a project that could use RED... If you have Red...and the package is right... I have the cash money. Double your investment on the body. Let me know if you are interested! I can have the money in less then a week! Depending on the package I can pay up to $100,000

Jerry

As the great thespian Keanu Reeves once said... "Whoa."
Even at 90k, I love this camera too much to part with it. I'm sure someone will bite, though.

Why don't you just shoot film?

You can have one for:

One-Million-Dollars!
Oh but seriously- just rent one or wait around. There are plenty of reservation holders who are looking to sell from time to time. If you have $100K to spend for just one project, put it up on the screen and rent...

I've had my RED for 3 weeks, and I love it more than my house, my car- but for a hundred I would introduce him to his new owner.

FIRST!!! Hawaii is the worst place in the World to shoot film. There have been many a project ruined by a TSA trainee... Second...the stress of predicting film stock for a shoot drives producers crazy...then developing dailies BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!! I am confused...If you don't know the answer to your question of "Why I want RED I should shoot film???" you must be missing the whole reason why RED ONE exists. Do you own a RED camera?
I have had the chance to rent Red with the Red Ninjas on 2 commercial projects and I understand why Red make sense..(I say this respectively to everyone who considers themselves a "FILMMAKER") ... that shooting super 35 mm film is a waste of time and money. Red is the most user-friendly way to make your movies. I am willing to pay a fair price Red because film has never made it fair for the story teller who always wanted to make movies.

Jerry

I was just teasing. Around here most people share your opinion of 35mm workflow vs. the RED workflow. If you post that on the more 35mm centric boards and you're in for a fight. But not here. :-)

I live in Hawaii. NAB is chaos and I have paid my dues there....so I skipped one...happened to be the Red One...and you my friend have #84 & #85... Foresight must be your middle name. I am am building a bridge from Hawaii to the mainland...using Red. This user forum ought to be more constructive. You are a caretaker for 2 cameras. What bridges are you building? I hope both of your cameras are being used everyday. If not give me a call I can point you in the right direction where you can get images worthy of 4k. Ever interested in shooting 4k in Hawaii...or know anyone who is willing to sell his camera just let me know...otherwise please don't waste my time or other users time with silly comments. It is this attitude that will hinder RED. Ask not what Red can do for you...but what can you do for the Red 4k revolution...
Aloha,
Jerry

Sorry dude- just giving you crap. a- because you sound a little over the top desperate throwing piles of cash up in the air hoping to hook a camera. b- because if you just bother to read through the forum, you'd find plenty of Reds both for sale and for rental.

And to Noah defense, he is a very accomplished and well known filmmaker and many companies and people that you respect, respect him.
<he was my next door neighbor when we both put deposits on cameras, (not knowing the other did, nor having ever talked about it)>. so, i was the first on my block, but 40 days later, my neighbor out did me with freankin two cameras...venice is a tough neighborhood....damn.

Hail chief Jim V,
He made is money on something called frogskins.
Oakley was the one of the first company actually to make SICK money in the surf industry. This camera request is sort of the surf industry making its money back from Oakley...and someone out there will get $100,000 and this will start the new chapter...! NO .gov work but I smiled at your insight !

Yes, but why isn't rental an option? It's just puzzling.
Well, whatever...

Well, whatever...
Not too puzzling... if he has a lot to shoot over a long length of time, then renting could end up costing more than a one-time purchase.

The answer to this puzzle is simple. Ansel Adams would not want to rent a Red camera if he did not have to.

From looking at his strange website, resume (what little of it I could piece together), and what he's posted here, I'm thinking he's high on Maui Wowie or something but since I see little accomplished and more "work in progress" I'm guessing he wants to use it on one of his many proposed projects.
