Charlie White from PopSci interviewed us a few months ago on this, but RED finally showed up as a full page in the latest Popular Science as a 2007 Best of What's New item.
Congrats RED team!

Every time someone calls it "video" it just cracks me up.
They just don't get it, do they?

I guess I don't either. It's a video camera.

I know what you mean. When I think "video camera", BETASP always comes to mind.
RED or the other souped up Digital Cine Cameras are a bit more than "video." You have to have an open mind to get it.

What does a DSLR produce? It's not a video still. It's not a film negative.
It's digital.
Ergo "digital cinema". A new term. Because it's certainly not film and it's certainly not video.

For democratizing FILM industry, Red (Revolution) was a must.

Knew I stopped reading Popular Science when I was 12 for a reason. (Ok, maybe more like 25)
I guess any publicity is good publicity, but it does sort of marginalize the RED system.

I don't see how this marginalizes the camera, after all the headline is:
"SPIELBERG-GRADE GEAR on an indie budget" (their caps)
Don't see why anyone would expect anything more from a magazine that covers ALOT of ground, and usually only scratches the surface of said ground.
Still amazed at how people seem to expect everyone to be instant Red zealots. Seems like a positive blurb to me!

That Coppola dude says something prophetic at the end of the doc.
The prospect of RED makes me feel like a little girl  :sorcerer:  .
