RED 15mm adapter ($95) and RED Universal Mount($125) can be obtained from RED to work with the RedRock Mattebox. That makes for a more expensive MatteBox. Because you also need 15mm Rods. I found a place, looks like they'll work.

Price- $12.23 buy one and use a Hack Saw.

I'm all for a 19mm option Mattebox. I hope Brian can do something.

Chuck, Thank-You. I checked it out. That idea is better than my barbaric Hack-Saw one.

They won't be light like alum. or carbon but then again they won't gaul or break either. And you'll look good. lol
Here's a source for metric sized stock. If you buy tubing make sure it's seamless as seamed/welded tubing won't work well with precision fitting bits like matteboxes or follow focus units.

To add to the off-topic in this off-topic, It doesn't seem like any of these supply places have 19mm tubing. Am I just stupid and missing the listing? Would .75 inch work in place of 19mm or are the tolerances too tight?
Also, while we're on, or I guess off, the topic of industrial supply, do any of you guys know of a source for friction hinges like the type on barn doors? I'm trying to add some barn doors to some homemade fluorescent lights and none of the hardware stores I've gone to in NYC seem to even know what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance. And sorry for the extra tangent.

Hehe... I had a little story about using 5/8" copper pipe around here somewhere. The 5/8" pipe has a 3/4" OD, which is just slightly bigger than 19mm. We had to sand it just a bit to get a couple pieces to fit, but it worked OK.

Most common hardware stores may not have them, but look around the cabinet hardware. Try some electrical supply companies, or those specializing in small industrial tools. There's lots of different types of friction and torque hinges out there

You might try a length of piano hinge. Take a center punch and dimple the hinge in a couple of spots that should stiffen it up.

Here's one source, there are many listed on Google.

$20K-$40K for a camera package and then to skimp another $200 for rods. Really?
