"...ensure that your clip parameters match your FCP sequence parameters..."
I'm trying to define what this means - understanding the meaning of "clip parameters" in this context and the eventual settings for the FCP sequence. If it refers to codec then how does that work because the clip is a REDCODE file and there are no REDCODE FCP sequence settings ... or at least we don't have that in our system.
I would have thought that the sequence settings would be ProRes...but the above doesn't seem to relate...unless I'm wrong :)
"FCP will prompt you to automatically match the sequence settings with your clip when you make your first edit into a new timeline"
It does? Doesn't do that for me.
No comprenday.
Help?

Yes, all the functionalities of the RED QuickTime Plugin (v1.2.1) are now in the FCS 2 REDCODE Plugin (v1.5.0) along with the new FCS 2 support. If you only have the previous RED QuickTime Plugin, please make sure you upgrade to the FCS 2 REDCODE plugin.

should we remove the old QT plugin first?
Should this allow us to play the 4K (16:9) proxies?

I'm with dfx, is the 1.5.0 QT component the only one that should be in our Library now?

Yes, it is best to go into the your Library / QuickTime directory and remove any existing REDCODE.QT.component items before you install the new version.

I downloaded and installed all new redcode for FCP2, redcine and the RAW file poster by Jarred - very exiting!
but... when I try to open raw file in quicktime I get this:
http://www.reduser.net/forum/uploaded/91_1195127810.jpg
And Final Cut 6.0.2 doesn't understand raw file at all, so it did not import.
It might be because I'm running OS X 5 (leopard)..

I am running/testing Leopard fine - are you trying to look at the .r3d instead of QT wrapper?

I think you need Red Alert (or a camera) to make the reference QTs. Currently Red Alert is only downloadable by camera owners, so it seems the rest of us currently can't try out Redcode in FCP. Hopefully this will change soon.

I believe that the latest firmware for the camera also generates the QT wrappers.

Is there a timeline for a Windows version of the REDCODE QT decoder?
