I am running a Black Macbook 2.16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo / OSX v 10.4.10
Redcine installs fine, opens fine, imports footage fine, but there is only grey/black empty boxes where the footage is supposed ot be.
Is anyone else having similar problems?
What about Mac Mini, iMac, etc? Any problems?

Same exact thing here. I don't think the internal graphics card of the Macbook is supported. It is very gpu dependent.
My quad Macpro is also having issues. /EDIT: FIXED-Repaired permissions.

Runs fine on a mac mini (10.4 core solo, 2gigs ram, GMA950). Suprised you are having issues. Is the the (color) button activated, otherwise footage icons display grey.

The color button Angryseven is talking about is at the top of the screen.
Move your mouse up.

If you are getting grey or white boxes, you haven't installed the QT component properly. It goes in the main library, Quicktime folder.

Jim is thinking about FCP & the QuickTime codec (which is put in the proper place by the installer).
If I'm not mistaken the macbooks don't have the proper graphics chips like the macbook pro's do. Since REDCINE highly depends on the graphics card (GPU) it will not work on all.
You will need to upgrade to a better system or use RED ALERT which does not use the graphics card to do its processing.

Try 1/4 medium res, then click the -/+ buttons at the top of the window. Once the image appears, don't resize the work-area. Seems to have something to do with not scaling on the screen. At least that's what I've encountered. 1/4 res shows up ok, and 1/2 res when resized +++ a few times, but nothing in-between. Just get gray work-area when not an equal multiple of res setting or something to that effect.
Tiger 10.4.10
Oh, sorry, I thought you meant the preview/work-area was grey/black. I'm not having issues with the footage clips showing at the bottom.

I shouldn't bother trying to install it on my G5 right? Intel only?

Just thought I'd ask.
Dear Apple,
HURRY UP with those Mac Pro's!

Justin, I know how you feel....
I was hoping for an announcement from Apple this week. I'm gonna have to go over to my friend's house this weekend to test out RedCine on his 8-core MacPro.

I think the smart-money is on January for new Mac Pro systems. I'd love one now too, but I don't see it happening.
HP, Dell and a few others are taking pre-orders from large business and enterprise customers for Penryn based systems and promising January delivery. I'd expect the new Mac Pro to be unveiled at MacWorld or in the days just before.

This might make some of you smile. I was thinking of running RedCine on a Panasonic ToughBook (http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=100537&catGroupId=12871&surfModel=Toughbook-30&displayTab=F) which has a GMA945 for video chipset. Could anyone confirm whether that's possible or not? Maybe not the best of ideas screen and power-wise... but the indestructibleness of a device is always appreciated on a set.

The grey box thing sounds like the same thing I have happening. You said to install the quicktime part of it to fix it, but I'm on a PC which doesnt have the quicktime codec. Redcine at least supposedly runs on XP as well as MAC so how do I fix it?
