hi,
i have downloaded redcine and it does not starts on my pc. it is installed. when i click to start, there is coming a black frame for a second, and thats it.
somebody know what could be the problem?

did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the app?
what is your system?

hey digi-fx,
i installed it new. last time i put the "for everyone" and know i have put "just for me"(installation parameters)------ still not working.
my pc:
Mobile intel(R) pentium(R)
4 - M CPU 1,80 Ghz
1,79 Ghz
352MB RAM
system:
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 1

What is your video card? My understanding is that anything but a Nvidia based video card may cause problems (it did for me). The other thing is memory space, I think you would want a lot more RAM for useful work, though I'm not sure if that's an issue just starting up. Also, I believe you are supposed to have WinXP Pro SP2 and not Home SP1.
Update: to my surprise, Redcine actually runs on my lowly Dell Inspiron 9300 with 1.6 Ghz Pentium M, 512 M RAM, 1440x900 display. It is not very fast, but it does preview the input .R3D file correctly and show all color corrections onscreen as expected. Note the export function does not work; exported still frames are black with 4 small B/W images across the top (see attached example).
If it is feasible to run Redcine on a laptop, I'm interested in what model is recommended.

No luck here...
MB pro 2.33 intel core duo....keep getting an "unable to archive error"

Look at your logfile... any hints in the OpenGL section? Lots of "Missing" or '"Not Available?"
