Be sure to repair permissions before launching RedCine.
It wasn't starting on my Macpro, just splash screen and crash. So I tried to boot it using less processers, etc. In the end I found it hadn't written it's log folder into the library directory. Then I found out I could make one. AhA!! repaired permissions now everything is dandy.

I'm still not there under 10.5.1, and I have NOT installed QT 7.4.
There is a log folder from a prior version, log files are being created (from the minute the app was launched and crashed).
Scenario:
download and install Redcine build 82 under 10.5.1 on a 1st gen OctoMac (2x4core 3.0 GHz, ATI 1900, QT 7.3.1)
crashes promptly after running.
Come here, read thread, run Disk Utility to Repair Permissions, launch the app, it takes longer, but it still crashes.
Any suggestions?
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
EDIT AGAIN - got it working - trashed the Library/Redcine folder, then All is Well.

hmm.. runs fine one our macpro's
10.4 ATI1900 QT 7.3.1
and
10.5.1 7600gt QT 7.3.1
macbookpro 10.5.1 ati QT 7.4
Here is how we install new builds.
(be aware you loose all redcine setting for projects etc...)
Delete the redcine app
Delete redcine folder in /Library
restart
Copy new Redcine build to Applications
run Redcine
Load clips.. clips load as grey. Exit. run redcine.. all should be good to go.
