As some of you know, the red stations only support a few ESATA cards. Highpoint and Silicon Imaging if I recall from the manual. But it looks to me that those are only tower friendly cards. Are there any express card ones that work? I am annoyed my expensive sonnett ESATA to express card no worky.
harumph.
at least until thunderbolt changes everything I guess.

Theres a ton of SIL3132 eSATA express cards available. Ive got the Rosewill rc605 that does the trick, but theres a ton of others.

I happen to have two on hand. One is a cheap one from Other World Computing (unbranded) and the other is a Sonnet Tempo SATA Pro. I've tried the Red Station CF reader with both and they both work fine. Actually work WAY better than it did with firewire , not just the obvious speed boost... cards mount much faster too. I should be getting SSD gear soon and will let you know if there are any difficulties with that reader.

looks like I stand corrected. I just re-tried my sonnet pro esata card and it mounted fine. I guess that warning in the manual and an initial hiccup on my end made me jump to conclusions. more tests are in order of course...

Most cards work fine. The list in the manual is for the cards we have tested and verified.

Anybody had any success with a SeriTek/2ME4-E ? Mine does not seem to work with the redstation - although it might also
be a redstation problem as the firewire 800 connector does not seem to work either ....
