There is no ASA setting in redcine...to manipulate the ASA i have to manipulate
the exposure settings.

RED ONE has an ASA of 320.

REDCINEs EXPOSURE is set to 0.00

You can choose the way up to exposure + 8.00 or down to - 8.00

How can i calculate how much the settings have to be changed to get

for example 100 ASA 200 ASA or 500 ASA 1000 ASA 1200 ASA?

Each single point of exposure is equal to one stop.

Example: If you're ASA was set at 320, setting an exposure of +1.00 would be equal to pushing the ASA to 500.

[EDIT] Thanks David. Then +1.00 would put you at ASA 640, not 500 (I haven't actually tested this, but it's the only thing that makes sense). ASA 500 is just the next option up when setting the ASA in REDAlert. I got confused...

Err... pushing 320 by one stop is 640, not 500.

Err... pushing 320 by one stop is 640, not 500.

so how i have to manipulate the exposure setting, to get the asa`s i wish.

HI david will you eplain more becuase he is asking about exposure rate from
-8-----to +8 how can we translate it to ASA parameters?

Assuming the base sensitivity is ISO 320 it would be something like this:

-8 . 1.25
-7 - 2.5
-6 - 5
-5 - 10
-4 - 20
-3 - 40
-2 - 80
-1 - 160
0 - 320
1.0 - 640
2.0 - 1280
3.0 - 2560
4.0 - 5120
5.0 - 10240
6.0 - 20480
7.0 - 40960
8.0 - 81920

thanks Anders .but what about minus scal -8-----to 0 ?
-1 =0 asa
-2=000??? sorry for that stupit question ?

Sorry, I did a quick edit to add it...

Maybe that's the point. Bit wrong question from the very beginning. In Redcine (generally in post) it's maybe bit too late to talk about sensitivity ( ASA). I'd rather talk about gain and gamma respectively.
