I love this tool except I wish I could just batch a whole reel to make proxies rather than one at a time and I wish there was a way to see thumbnails or preview window before importing.

RedCine currently doesn't have a way to build QT proxies for fast edits that I'm aware of, Anders where did you find that batch software?

It's a non functioning window inside RedAlert.
Have you tried my little RedPortal app for making batch QT proxies?
