300mm lens delivery date?

Do we know yet if the 300mm RED prime will be ready for delivery when the camera is out? If not we'll really need an option ready for prime time. This begs to ask also if we know what's the situation on this matter for the nikon mount?

Alternative is to try out to find used Nikon AI/S 300/2,8 ED-Nikkor for about US $ 2.000.

There's no necessity. The 300mm will be available at the same time than the RED ONE:

«RED ONE, 300mm, RED DRIVE and RED RAILS are early 2007 (target)
18-85mm zoom- later 2007
EVF- early or mid 2007
If you aren't disappointed with pricing yet, you are not likely to be with anything else we announce.

My understanding has always been that the 300mm zoom would ship after the camera. And those are Jim's target dates, not promised ship dates.
