I just bought Resolve and though totally green am beginning to pick it up. I'd love to hire a pro to show me the ropes. Any takers in Chi-Town?

The Davinci Resolve course at FxPHD online right now is current and excellent.

Yeah, the FXPHD course DAV101 is just what you need. I'm not sure if you can get in the current term right now since it's over soon, but you can likely buy it from the vault next term. It's a very good course. I also heard there is a new version 8 course coming soon. Hopefully next term.

You might ask around on the Telecine Internet Group (http://tig.colorist.org) -- there's quite a few Chicago colorists among the regulars, and I bet one of them could schedule X number of hours in a suite (or in your bay) for a fee.
Alexis Hurkman's Color Correction Handbook (http://www.amazon.com/Color-Correction-Handbook-Professional-Techniques/dp/0321713117/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1308554259&sr=1-1) is also an excellent general reference book that outlines some good general principles of color correction, including overall approaches with several different systems (including Resolve).
