I have a weird behavior going on here. Getting sooo tired of it that I am resorting to you guys.
Setup:
Dual quad core mac pro, 8 gigs of ram, TWO red rockets (one in a 8x port, the other one in a 4x port)
I am transcoding two clips (RC36, 4K16:9 with audio, 23.976), both shot on the same mag(CF16), same camera, same day (few minutes apart). One clip is just one frame longer than the other one (242,243 respectively).
The footage resides on an external g-raid drive connected via FW800. I
Here is my issue. One clip will transcode in 6-7 seconds, the other one takes 20+ seconds! Same export setting for both, same look, same everything. Going to prores LT, and have tried writing to multiple devices (internal, external,network u name it).
I just gave up and let it be slow for today.
Any hints????
