Evin Grant is a star on this board.

Talk about above and beyond.

Okay, Red is the color of V day, and since everyone here shares a love for photography & Red, I thought it appropriate to send some Red love back to an outstanding member here.

His generosity of time and sharing of information, especially considering his excellent in depth reviews, deserves a thread for any who'd like to give Evin a special shout out...

I know I'm not saying anything we all don't know, but I just wanted to make a point to Evin that his efforts are Really Appreciated.

I seldom post, but I am here every day and I think I can speak for many of the silent or semi silent like me, when I say...

Evin, You Rock! And Thank You.

Why thank you. I try because I love this community and believe in this camera, I just wish I had the funds to buy and test ALL the lenses that fit Red.
I am an admited glassaholoic (Gibby's term).

"Hi. My name's Evin and I've been on glass for the past 10 years. I started out just using magnifiers and bottle necks with some kids behind the schoolyard, however, I quickly made my way up to some high-grade Cooke and I've been hooked ever since.."

Evin definitely ROCKS! Even for those who don't even have the funds to buy a Red.

It's great that finally someone is thoroughly evaluating good 35mm still camera lenses from a cine perspective. Everyone in the indie community gains something - from a full-time Red DP all the way down to someone like me, who's planning to rent a Red and at other times run Nikons through a $800 Brevis to a $1100 Canon HV20...

All the best with your directing and DP'ing, Evin. May you soon find artistic success and big bucks (if you haven't already...). Until then, people in LA should buy you coffee and/or beer whenever they sight you.

I'm paying the bills and livin the dream, that's all that matters.
The lens testing is pretty fun, I'm actually learning a lot doing it too. You really find out how beat your gear is when you push to the extreme like this.

Evin is the man, and if you love flowers like lenses, you'd be a Florist. I'm glad you're not. I have two of your favorite flowers, I mean Nikkor lenses for RED this Valentines Day - and thanks to your reviews I will keep them: Nikkor 17-35mm and Nikkor 80-200mm.

Evin,
Thanks again for all your valuable work! I would follow your advise, so it is: 17-35 Nikor, 17-85 Nikor, 80-200 Nikor, for me for now.

right !

It takes so much patience and know-how to do such tests.

Thanks Evin !
