Would it be possible in a future version to provide some way to get GPS data into the camera while shooting, from a small hand held GPS unit. I have some work that I could use the data for. Shooting doc type of footage in the outback it would be awesome to have that data to later identify locations and add the data to mapping software. This GPS data could just ride in the metadata.

we have space in the metadata for that.. so eventually it will be a possibility.

I h ave a couple of customers with NOAA and another agency that would seriously consider the RED for mapping purposes - both underwater and abovewater - if we had this capability.

With 5000 Red One's we could probably map the entire world in 4K and flog it to Google for a few billion :)
