Error: Playback Error

I have a timeline that I brought in from a Final Cut XML, and am exporting it in Open EXR for VFX. The footage is a mix of 2K and 4K at 16:9; I'm encountering an "Error: Playback error" in the Export Queue window. The first few times it consistently occurred at 8%, and after restarting, it rendered until I hit 73%. Anyone have any idea?

Also a newbie question about the EXR images; does Preview properly display them? All the images come out black in quickview and Preview.

Hi Mathew, this might be down to the X1900 as unfortunately it's an unsupported card. This would affect playback and also exporting.

Hi Mathew, just an additional note, it might be worth you contacting support just in case there's an additional cause. Re: the graphics card, the ATI 4870 would be a good upgrade. It's a little bit old now but still good and should be able to get it for a reasonable price. Double check with Apple on compatibility with your particular MacPro though
