Hey guys,
Just got a new Firewire drive, wondering whether I want to use the journaled HFS+ format or not. The journaled supposedly protects files from damage if the power goes out or I pull a cable out by accident, but it also supposedly makes file writing a little slower. I've searched online a bit and people seem to disagree on exactly how much slower -- it sounds like for most users the performance hit is tiny but video editing seems like the kind of thing where it might actually add up. How do you guys format your drives? Anyone done more detailed research on this?
Thanks,
