For those who are thinking that Birger's Canon mount is a better choice, here is another one:

BTW, it's the 18-200mm VR Nikkor (cheap) lens. That one thought for still photography, not moving picture. LOL
EDIT -- Here's another samples set:

I'd like to find the same color outcome from Canon's... :) Hey I love Canon -- my HV20 is my mistress! And I don't know yet if I will go with Nikon or Canon with my Birger mount.

My GUESS is the Canon mount will work better, sooner. To me waiting for the Nikon Birger might be like waiting for RED with unforseen delays despite the best intentions. The Canon mount is supposed to ship in 8 days and there will be a backlog of orders to fill.
Just depends when you want to use the thing by.
I think it's likely I'll end up with both mounts. Or a RED nikon mount.

the only drawback is that it doesn't take filters. RED needs ND. So I think one would be mad not go for the 24-24 if you get a Nikon mount as it is obviously a fantastic lens, but then one would need a matt box.
that is a problem for me because I think advantage of the Birger system is that it can make RED much lighter and smaller. If I was going to have to put rails etc on the camera I would buy the RED lenses. Everyone says they are brilliant value for money, and they are designed for the camera.

The 14-24mm f/2.8 AF-S is full-frame FX digital SLRs. For RED the DX lenses are better, because they match the sensor better.
I got a full set of Nikon Full Frame primes, but I will sell them again and replace them with DX lenses I guess.
Rockwell states "For DX cameras, the 12-24mm f/4 DX is a much better idea." on this site: http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/14-24mm.htm The downside is that this is just an F4 lens.

RED needs ND. Why do you think so?

The image quality isn't worse on full frame lenses, it's usually better because the best part of the image is used. And because the best lenses are pro lenses are full frame lenses.

That is as spoken by a true nikonian... This used to be nikons longterm excuse for not being able to build a full frame camera.
I will stick to zooms made for the aps chipsize, not so much because of their quality as their smaller size and longer focal range.
Secondly the glass is very sharp due to the pixeldensity of small chips.
