Hey guys,
We are preparing to receive our EPIC-X soon and picked up the Red 18-85 from the store.
This lens is huge! We are all very excited to use this lens with the Epic soon, especially our dog Penny!

Congratulations, may it serve you well.
One point, you may already be aware of ... the lens doesn't cover the full frame of Epic at its widest angles. There are reports of slight vignetting. (I haven't checked this out myself.)
I think it covers fine at 2:1 aspect , and certainly covers perfectly at 2.4:1. Since I expect to shoot everything with Epic at 2:1, with guides for 16:9 and 2.4:1 this doesn't concern me ... and it may not concern you. Just remember to look for this and see if it suits you.
Its a great lens to build an Epic kit around, and I am glad Red was able to deliver glass that's so good and affordable.
Congrats again!

Thanks Alexander!
I did see that the lens vignettes on Epic. I probably wont be shooting any video in full frame, and I doubt I will use this lens much for photography =) (I also pre-ordered the canon mount!)
I am very excited to see how this lens handles the Epics huge resolution!

Joe,
Ketch's review of the lens was one of my main reasons for buying it! (That and how affordable it is!)
I am sooo excited! I am hoping to hear about the Stage 2 Epics this week!
