In response to Jim Jannard's "Delays and Frustration..." post in the Red One forum, I'd like to say that delay is fine by me as I can't afford a full set of PL mount glass anyway. I won't need the camera until the Nikon mount is available.

However, like I posted elsewhere in that forum, I hope the RED team would consider the P+S interchangeable lens mount concept or even work with them to cut down development time.

I'd really want to be able to swap between Leica R (wishfully Leica M also), Contax, Nikon, Canon Hasselblad or even PL mount (a particular focal length instead of a full set) lenses on set easily. With the corresponding interchangeable mount already attached to a particular lens (literally a universal adapter), it would be very handy in the real world situation. This universal mount will certainly make the camera system more flexible for a lot of us.

I hope my voice represents a significant number of RED users and is heard by the decision makers in the company. If not, I hope P+S or any third party could step up and do something along this line for us.

I think they sell adapters(Not from RED) for that purpose. Ive seen a few on ebay.

if you order the canon mount, you can buy adapterrings for the mentioned brands of still lenses and attach them permanently to your lenses. However changing back to PL mount would demand ekstra caution.

I understand this part and that's why I am asking for a more flexible design.
